PICTURESQUE BBQ at the WYONG MILK FACTORY

You know those quotes which pop up on your facebook news feed and you think, yes, I am going to BE that or DO just that or THAT sounds so easy and achievable yet once the kids start asking for things, you walk away and its forgotten instantly. Yes, that happens to me all the time too. We all have the best intentions but sometimes life is just busy. There is one particular quote which I have saved on my desktop and I return to it every once in a while as a reminder. It’s a simple one… “Time spent with family is worth every second”. With this simple quote in the forefront of my mind, I decided it would be nice to spend some quality time as a family and enjoy a BBQ picnic by the river. The WYONG MILK FACTORY (located on Alison Road, Wyong. Its only 5 minutes from the M1 exit), was the ideal picturesque setting for just this. They now have free Gas BBQ’s on site and lovely banquet size picnic tables. There is plenty of space to lay the picnic rug by the river too. We got to meet some of the locals, like the large green grasshopper basking on the ledge and the black ducks swimming up the stream through the weir. The BBQ’s are clean and easy to use. We took some aluminium foil and covered the hot plate so we did not have to clean up after use. Fresh corn cobs, sliced potatoes, sliced onions and sausages all fit on the hot plate without any trouble. After lunch, we had a walk around the factory grounds. A collection of boutique shops, like the award winning Little Creek Cheese Factory, Luka Chocolates, All Sorts Gym, the Milk Factory Café, a Hair Studio, Central Coast Woodturners Co-Op and Olivers, to potter. The children’s playground caters best for the little ones (toddlers to 5 year olds). It would be an ideal location to host a 3 year old pirates or fairies birthday party. You can book this space through the Milk Factory Café. Speaking of the Café, they are famous for their wood fired pizzas. Roughly $18 each. After our two had a play, we stopped in for a cuppa and an ice-cream. It was such a lovely morning and we were able to enjoy some quality time together as a family. *For more information and to see more photos on the Wyong Milk Factory, Little Creek Cheese and of course, Luka Chocolates, please scroll down my page.
